Hi ppl, im new on this forum and english is not my first language but i would like to discussed about next year.
im a big fan of Dinara since 2005 and im so happy of her performances this year. but im a little bit affraid for 2009.
shes 22 yo, shes in the top 5 and some ppl think she's here because henin is out, sharapova is injured..... anyway i dont think its true because dinara already beat sharapova and she beat top 5 players. but im affraid about the pressure on her. In the same time (22 yo) i think it's the time to prove that she can be a top 5 player.
i know many fans of her are confident that she's will be number one and i know she had the talent for this but in 2009, she should deal with her emotions again PLUS the pressure.
so my question is: what do you expect of Dinara in 2009? if she's number 7 or 9 in 2009 what do you think of this?

Hi Maria Because Dinara has only very few points to defend early next year and her being ranked number three at the moment , I expect her to reach number 1 in 2009.

I do not expect that she will be N.1 in 2009 and will be very happy if she does it. Expectation is not very good thing because you always feel disappointed when something not happen. I guess that to reach top and to stay on top is 2 different tasks for everyone. I hope Dinara will be calm and patient to play her game and work hard regardless to result. And then we’ll see…
PS. Coolgirl, do you know how to count points? I've heard that rules and tournament schedule changes since next year.

PS. Coolgirl, do you know how to count points? I've heard that rules and tournament schedule changes since next year. Im not so sure about the changes in calculations they will implement next year but like you, i also read some rumors about more points to be given in Grand Slams for 2009. Anyway, all im saying is that Dinara has been losing in early rounds early this year like in Australian Open where she lost in first round, so given that her form has very much improved since Berlin, I assume she has nowhere to go but up in the rankings. that is if she continues to be injury free

Hi, Maria! I think she will win a Big Helmet Cup and will be No.1 in the world! She deserves it!

im sure also she will reach No1 at the beginning of the year but it's more difficult to keep the spot

I agree with Nastya)) The other important thing is that she said that she is really going to reach ¹1. If she is so serious about it, I think she certainly will.

im positive she'll get to number 2. her and Serena's points are so close! but she's gonna have to seriously work work work for the number one ranking and if she wants to keep it! It'll be a battle but she's definitley capable!
and her part of the draw looks promising! and with Venus out already who knows what'll happen!!
go Dinara! =]
