Your coach has you thinking YOU are bad. Some of your tactics on the court are bad - but many of the things you do are GOOD and your coach needs to focus on all your good stuff. Yes, he needs to point out your mistakes and how they can be corrected - but not take away your self-confidence in the process.
Get rid of this guy - he is pulling you down!!!!!

I agree with you, your coach is the one you look for comfort, cues and must be your number one supporter.....The fans knows better...Good luck

YES! CHANGE YOUR COACH BEFORE ITS TOOOOOOOOO LATE!! YOU KEEP MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN : 1) TOSSING THE BALL TOO HIGH AND SOOOO MANY DOUBLE FAULTS. 2) YOUR ONLY STRATEGY SEEMS TO BE HITTING THE BALL HARDER AND HARDER AND HARDER AND HARDER ... UNTIL THE BALL GOES LONG. WHAT KIND OF STRATEGY IS THIS? YOU ARE UNABLE TO COME UP WITH A 'PLAN B'. 3) YOU BECOME SO TENSED UP THAT YOU BECOME DYSFUNCTIONAL.
YOUR PRESENT COACH IS UNABLE TO HELP YOU RAISE THE LEVEL OF YOUR GAME ANY FURTHER!! DO SOMETHING BEFORE ITS TOOOOOOOOOO LATE. ITS AN AGONY WATCHING YOU PLAY.

I agree with the above posters that you should change your coach. He no doubt has taught you a great deal even though he is a bit of a JERK. Every player needs to have various perspectives because no one person has all the answers. If I were you I would see if you could get a different coach that could compliment your style of play but would focus on broadening your strategy. You might seek out Lindsey Davenport for short term and if your current coach isn't supportive with finding additional perspectives than YOU don't need him. Good luck to you, you have the talent and the work ethic to go as far as you want.

I totally agree!
Your coach will not do good to you, he is worthless. You played the same style over and over again, loose in 3 grandslam in an embarrassing fashion, disgusting... your serve is so weak, it supposed to be one of your strength, but even lowly ranked player can even step in inside the baseline to receive your server. You have so many double faults!!!
BTW, is your coach taught you to receive the serve of your opponent 6 feet behind the baseline? Cant you see it, you've being toyed around but your opponent. You are leaving the court open for their next shot, thats why you are struggling.
And why your couch focus on your weakness and improve it? Tennis is not all power but you also need to use your brain... You are methally weak too, when are loosing, you will start crying and look at your worthless coach. You looks poor thing in all those grandslam finals and crying when you are about to loose.
I could that all you guys are concerened to Dinara, so do I... So Dinara, wake up!!! listen to your fans...replace your coach now, NOW!

Dinara, my wife and I are among your fans. We see your brilliance on court and know that you have an all-around game--talent, grit, drive, intelligence, and most of all, heart. We also see that you become far too hard on yourself, and this is part of why your game melts down sometimes. I am concerned for you whenever I see you look up at your coach and then put yourself down. I don't know you or your coach personally, so it would be reaching for me to say, "get rid of your coach." But watching on television, it does seem that your opinion of yourself becomes very fragile and you begin to think negatively of yourself while your coach looks on critically.
I think the best coaches are ones who can be "tough" by working players hard and expecting a great deal, but who also see the best in the player and provide support and guidance. They need to see what you can be, but also see greatness in who you are right now, always. In other words, you have to support yourself wherever you are, even during errors, even in defeat. If you and others around you are making your errors and successes too personal, this is dangerous.
Best Wishes to you. We will be following your tennis progress, and supporting you regardless.

I am not sure about getting rid of her coach as he has been at the forefront in developing her game..BUT Dinara has no plan B when things go wrong.Firstly they need to alter her serve completely. In a tie-break it is such a bonus to have a relaible serve and another point why is she standing way way behind the base line to receive even opponents with not even a fast serve.I adore her determination, grit and watching her play but she has me on a knife edge every time I see her play.I am afraid to say she wwill not hold the No1 position much longer unless their are BIG ALTERATIONS to her game.

I don't think it is a good idea. Zeljko has already helped her to improve some area in her game. I think she should get an additional coach maybe it will work.

Dinara said on her last press conference that the only person who she listen and trust is her coach Zeljko. She also said that she doesn't want that anyone stands between she and Zeljko. Personally I think that Zeljko is good coach. Dina trusts him and that is enough for everyone who loves Dina!!!

Dinara I agree that a coaching change would do you good you need positive encouragement and support.. Your coach is moping more than you..... You need to at least expand your coaching staff, find a good serving coach and maybe another fitness trainer... For fitness and discipline there is a guy in hawaii his name is Laird Hamilton ask Jonny mac about him. The tennis world loves you and we all want you to do good. Just please do something to make it happen. The way it is, is not good Best whishes Stephhan Jay Hawaii

Hi Dinara~ I have seen you rule the court with your confidence, talent and great heart, its what drew my husband and I to be such fans. I don't know if getting a new coach is the key to your success, but I do know you are very capable of winning a Grand Slam and a change is what you need to get there.
