When i first heard it, i thought she was like married with almost the same surname as her maiden name lol! But that was ages ago. The adding the 'a' thing is so confusing sometimes with pronounciations. I always thought it was Safin-a but everyone on the TV was saying Safeena so i changed to that, and than i heard that Dinara actually stated its 'Safin-a' so than i had to change my pronounciation, again! LOL

Actually stress on first A.. so S_A_fina instead of Saf_I_na as i always hear on TV. I don't know why everybody pronounce it like Saf_I_na But there is no such change about Marat - he is S_A_fin verywhere

I have noticed commentators at the Australian open have been pronouncing her name correctly for the first time.
