Dinara I think your coach did a horrible job at your today's (16.1.) game against Elena Dementieva and was the main cause of your defeat.
I don't know what he told you after you won the second set, but I know he totally got you off rhythm. I don't understand how can someone be that dumb and after a very well played set start criticizing your game!?!
If you'll have the chance, take a look at a recap of the game. Focus on the end of second set, the break between sets and the beginning of third set. He obviously "helped" you to loose concentration!
Good luck in either finding a new coach or helping your coach realizing how psychology works.

To my mind, Dinara has a good coach. He tried to help her.

i think its too easy to say that!!! dementieva is a great player who has experience in finals so she deserved her win. She beats serena and many top players each years. Dinara has always trouble with top 5 players. it's at Dinara to found the game to beat top players. the coach can help but can't play for her

hahahaha i agree that yes, partly the cause of defeat was her watchful eye on her coach. at the end of the second set they were saying something like this:
C: "Dinara, you have to hit balls down the line, and when she does a weak backhand charge with a forhand"
D: "I do go down the line"
C: "Oh, where is she??" (asking about Elena)
D: "She always goes after a set, you don't know anything!"
C: "blah blah blah (dont really know what he says back, probably telling he the things she shouldnt do)
D: "I cant do anything!" *Both coach and dinara smiles*
I think that yes, he pushes her. But he brought her to this level of tennis, along with Dinaras mother. They seem close, like friends. Which is very good.

"You don't know anything!" Lol! Classic, something Marat would spit out at a chair umpire!
Fire him?! Oh heeeeeell no! His her coach, knows more about her game than she probably does from observing it match after match, game after game. For us to sit back and say 'yo, your coach is dumb to come out and say that stuff yarder yarder yarder' is none of our business. We don't know how their relationship works coaching wise. If Dinara didn't think the coaching was useful, clearly she's big enough to change things up and do her own thing. As fans, alot can be misinterpreted between player and coach because we don't have that bond.. So, in the end, it was her decision to call him out, his advice, it is what it is, the results are what they are and so be it!

i think that would be a tad harsh, he is paid to tell her things she may not want to hear, but sometimes you have to in order to get the best out of players, i think he should stay.

He has unbelievable eyes! I keep watching it over and over again, the bit after the first and second set. I watch be because it cracks me up everytime! "Because i look and see something and you guys.." "Im not looking?" "Noo!" "Oh, ok" "You're talking to eachother" "Ok.. something else?" *Dinara shakes head* LOL! Its so funny, i shouldnt laugh because clearly she was annoyed but its so funny watching those to have a go at eachother!

I really like your reactions. 90% of you have either not seen the part of the part of the match I wrote about, or have no clue how coaching works..
The coach came without Dinara calling him. He started talking to her and it was absolutely clear she lost concentration after the speech!!

Meh, who cares that was back than this is now. Clearly the guy is doing a good job, she's making finals, and has a calm attitude. We all seen the part, we're her fans, of course we seen. But like we've all said, she knows whats best for her and so does he. So really, its none of our business what goes on with them. He does his job, she does hers and thats the main thing
