I was so sad to see Dinara lose but I have said so many times her coach needs to work on changing her serve.Lets her down every match.I am now wanting Kim to win this US Open or the young American Mel Oudin...anybody but Serena!!

Maybe my biggest achievement yet!Hi Everyone! First of all thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for all the good wishes and support from everyone: family, friends, fans and the media. To be so well respected and thought of by all of you means a great deal to me and in some ways matters more than results.Speaking of results, I cannot put into words what has happened at the US Open, or even the last few weeks. I said back in Cincinnati this was a new adventure and it was going better than expected, well what happened in New York is like a dream. Beating Bartoli was a good result, coming back to beat Venus is a very high level, tight third set after losing seven games in a row was a bonus. That match showed me I could play with and actually beat the very best players. I was ready for Serena in the semis and I played my best match every maybe. The final, it almost hit me what I was about to achieve and thankfully I played well when it counted although I was far from the level in earlier matches helped me realise my dream. It is so nice to share this win with all my team, with whom I have worked so hard with over the last eight months, but especially to share it with the people I love the most, Brian and Jada and having them on court was the icing on the cake. Someone told me later I was the first mother since Evonne Goolagong Cawley (someone I admire a great deal) to win a Grand Slam, almost 30 years ago. Today I did a lot of press and television, such as The Early Show on CBS, Regis and Kelly on ABC and NBC's Nightly News, then I also did the Belgian evening news programmes with VRT and RTBF, I did a photo shoot in Times Square, spoke to some more international journalists and Sports Illustrated. All in all between last night and this morning, I spent about five hours doing media work. It's funny, they have been talking about me being the poster girl for working mums everywhere and being an inspiration to them. That's extremely flattering, but really all I want to do is play the sport I love and do the very best I can while sharing this amazing experience with my family. I am going home to Belgium on Tuesday after a short stop at our new place in New Jersey. Then it will be some well earned rest and relaxation away from training, the courts and the pressure that comes along with that. Some quiet family time at home in Bree. I won't be playing another tournament until Luxembourg while my sister Elke and her husband await the birth of their first child in the next few weeks. It's extremely exciting and I couldn't be happier. All the best to everyone and lots of love, Kim xxx
